Flos's Newest "Lamp Accessoration" by Philippe Starck!

Lighting "accessorator supreme" Flos has commissioned "designer supreme" Philippe Starck, in collaboration with Eugene Quitllet, to create this standing lamp, "Bibliotheque Nationale." According to Strack, "imagine fairy tale bookcase where books pirouette and take flight towards the light." In addition to shelves for books or other items, there is a UBS connector at the base to recharge ipads & smartphones!

This lamp is a divine new "lighting accessoration".....

I already have two on order!!!!

This summer I keep seeing fabulous bicycles with charming

"print accessorations"!!!!

Last week, I fell in love with this Lily Pulitzer

paisley patterned bicycle

with divine whip-stitched handles!!!

Sitting in a bike rack in East Hampton .....

she was calling my name!!!

Phoebe Washburn Installation @ Zach Feuer Gallery!

Apparently I am once again ...... one day behind the NY Times!!!

Filling the Zach Feuer Gallery, artist Phoebe Washburn's installation "Nunderwatr Nort Lab" which explores her interest in "systems based on patterns of production often created by inefficiency." In this case she is examining the unrelated activities of art and lunch!!! In this piece the viewer will observe and smell lunch being made inside the installation, as well as watch it being eaten!!

"The main structure, composed of blocks of scrap wood, that has been repurposed and then ordered from previous installations, contains observational 'worm holes' that extend into the structure from which visitors can glean, in addition to hear and smell, bits of the activities occurring inside."

I find it Washburn's constructions to be a visual feast ....

in addition to being an ecological statement ...

and every time I look at her pieces,

I see something else ......

I especially love peering into the 'worm holes'!!!

I flipped over these chairs/sofa at the

East Hampton Historical Society Antique Show,

last week!!!!

It's metal (my favorite for outdoors) & the shape is wonderful ......

imagine painting it black .....

Stunning!!!!!

And "accessorated" with my vintage Indian quilt pillows .....

It's divine!!!

fiberglass sculpture .....

"Companion Passing Through"

is "accessroating" the front of The Standard Hotel,

in the Meat Packing District!!!!!!

But, it is!!!!

The Lorin Marsh showroom

in New York's D & D Building has been renovated!!!

And it looks fabulous ....

There is a tasty & chic array of antique & new "accessorations" ....

plus stunning furniture!!!!

The pillows make my mouth water .......

the Venetian glass lamps make me quiver ....

& the lucite furniture simply takes my breath away!!!!

This is a definite "must stop" for all "accessorators"!!!!!

This window full of antique sewing machines .....

and the room divider created from vintage shoe forms ....

plus lots of vintage iron machinery .......

were found at All Saints Co.,

a clothing company that originated in London.

It is located on West 13th Street, NYC

in the Meatpacking District .......

I didn't know what it was when I walked by .....

but I knew I had to go in!!!!

I love unique vintage "accessorations" .......

and this "industrial accessoration" is very chic!!!!

In Venice ........ TRA is Also the Inverse of ART!!!!

I am lucky enough to seen Axel Vervoordt's incredible exhibition

"TRA, Edge of Becoming"

at the Palazzo Fortuny in Venice!!!!!

I was awed by the beauty of the objects,

their installation & the setting,

it was incredibly stunning!!!

I especially adored this silk sculpture
by Korean artist Kimsooja!!!

Vervoordt is undoubtably the world's

ultimate design genius!!!

The design philosophy he infuses into his company company

offers the best explanation of his vision ........

"With a taste that spans continents and centuries,

it is the company's belief that all objects,

regardless of their origin and value,

are infused with a timelessness,

universal beauty and intrinsic purity
