furniture, design objects, art, and antiques

is in the center of that area.

Featuring an divine international array of "style-mavens" .....

the store is a mecca for

all things chic!!!

I adored this store ad saw a zillion "must-have's" for my house!!!!!

Chairs Filled Tent London during the Design Festival!

Tent London, one of the largest design trade-shows

taking place during the 2011

London Design Festival ...

was home to a melange of odd & unusual seating!!!!!

In an assortment of colors, patterns, shapes, and sizes!!!!

Or, maybe by then I was so exhausted that possibly .......

that's all "the accessorator" saw!!!!

Karen Ryan's Sit Chair Project Takes to the Street!!!!!

My friend, English artist Karen Ryan is probably one of the

most interesting and talented women I know!!!!

Her "Sit" chair project" for the 2011 London Design Festival

could not be found at any of the usual venues!!!!

"The "sit" chair project is an alternative response to London Design Week 2011. I have taken two chairs, one from my dinning room table and one from my bedroom, both of which had been previously discarded. I designed the "sit" brand for the use of these chairs, the brand identity is hand stamped upon a newly prepared surface area on each individual chair."

"Through mass consumerism we are used to looking at design as objects of desire fed by what is fashionable and are own delusions of need. I want to divert the gaze and alter the senses. I am taking both "sit"chairs out onto the streets and photographing people sitting on them with my mobil phone."

"I consider the "sit" chair project a relevant design and comment on contemporary furniture design today."

I spent last Thursday evening with Karen,

walking around London's Brompton Design District!!!!

Being with Karen is always a brilliant treat for me ......

and I was beyond over--the-moon that

one of her chairs joined us!!!!!

Squint Creates Sofa For London Transport Museum!!!

English designer (and my friend!) Lisa Whatmough,

owner of the fabulous London furniture company .......

Squint Limited

was asked by the London Transport Museum

to create this divine bespoke sofa .......

to be used on the posters that appeared in the Underground Tube stations

during the London Design Festival!!!!!

Made from the famous "moquette" fabric,

which has been used to upholster seating across the

London Transport system for over 100 years.

Lisa incorporated some of the most iconic patterns,

including the bold District Line pattern

designed by Misha Black in 1978 ...

and the Green Line moquette.

In addition, Lisa created a bespoke chair that was auctioned-off

at the Tent London design exhibition last week.

Surrounded by loads of people trying to "win" the chair ......

it was almost impossible to get it's picture!!!!

But, here it is!!!

Wish I'd won it ......... don't you!!!

Moroso/Flos Showroom Adds Galleria Illy Pop-up!!!

In London, Italian design giants Flos and Moroso

share a spectacular showroom!!!!

For the London Design Festival, they are co-hosting Galleria Illy,

a divine installation showcasing a program of .....

art, literature, science, design, food, and wine events!!!

The entire space is extraordinary,

from the outside ..... in!!!!

The window design, interior colors, pattern, and structure

are over-the-top eye candy!!!

The furniture is Moroso at it's best .....

and the lighting from Flos is spectacular, as usual!!!

The computer that lets you to design your own coffee label

and then prints it is technologically au courant!!!

The entire package is this "accessorator's" dream come true!!!

A Girl's Favorite "Accessoration" @ Selfridges!!!!!

Selfridges, my favorite department store in London,

had the best, best, best windows!!!

"Carmen Miranda", a sculpture created by French artist

Joana Vasconcelos

is made from stainless steel pans, lids, and cement!!!

It's an absolutely over-the-top

"accessoration" for this store window ....

but, it would be especially divine in my closet!!!

Unusual Guides to Finding Your Way Around the V&A!

The V&A Museum's designer maps,

launched last year,

has been revisited with a collection new maps

inspired by five cultural icons .......

Tom Dixon, Lulu Guinness, Annie Lenox, A.S. Byatt,

and Dame Judi Dench.

Designed by the Johnson Banks Studio,

the maps give a personal tour of the museum's collections

though the eyes of these icons.

They are visually divine .......

and great "accessorations" for a museum tour!!!

The Bouroullec Brothers & Kvadrat Carpet the V&A!!!

France's renowned design duo,

the Bououllec Brothers,

have partnered with Danish textile company Kvadrat

to have create this interactive installation entitled "Textile Field"

at the V&A Museum, London!!!!

Exhibited in the Raphael Gallery, this expansive textile work,

part of the 2011 London Design Festival,

has become a place for museum visitors to contemplate art ......

as well as meet and mingle!!!!

"Timber Wave" Accessorates the V&A Museum, London!

A major highlight of the London Design Festival 2011,

this striking installation, "Timber Wave,"

created by AL_A Architects .......

in collaboration with structural engineers Arup,

is sited in front of the main entrance to London's V & A Museum!!!

The three-dimensional spiral, made from

oil-treated American red oak,

creates a stunning "doorway" into this extraordinary museum .....

which plays an integral part in the Festival.

Add the Spice Bazaar, and you're over the top!!!!

But, it's fabulous & a must-see .....

especially for the "Grand Accessorator"!!!!

Hall, owned by designer Christopher Hall

is one of Istanbul's chicest shopping experiences!!!

I adore the melange of contemporary and vintage,

furniture, lighting, objects, art,

and interior design.

There were so many things I want to send back to NYC .....

I might even fill a whole shipping container!!!!

The Grand Bazaar in Istanbul is full of surprises .......

starting with these chairs .....

"wearing" spectacular antique textiles!!!!!

wearing antique rugs!!!!!

Just got to The House Hotel ......

located in Nisantase, the Madison Avenue of Istanbul,

above the Prada store (the best)!!!!

The hotel is fabulous

but, I couldn't take my eyes off ......

the bookcases!!!!

Aren't they incredible!!!!!

I really am the ultimate bookcase junkie!!!!
