From My Pumpkin Patch to Yours .... Happy Halloween!

I considered going to pick my own pumpkin .....

but it started to snow!!!!

Instead ..... off I went to Barbara Trujillo Antiques,

in Bridgehampton,

home to the best "vintage Halloween accessorations"!!!!

Of course, I couldn't pick just one ....

So, this divine collection has a new "patch"!!!!!

Once an "accessorator" ...... always an "accessorator"!!!

Milk Design Concept @ "Home" in London's East End!!!

Luca & Nathalie Bomio have created an extremely well edited

selection of furniture, fashion, and design at

Milk Concept Boutique

Shoreditch High Street, London.

The "accessorator" loves the extensive selection

of Fornasetti products ..... including

ceramics, furniture, pillows and wall coverings!!!!

This fall the store launched a collection of limited edition vases

curated by Barnaba Fornasetti (son of Piero) .....

combining the Fornasetti "look" with the

workmanship of Bitossi Ceramiche!!!!

Selecting only pieces they love,

the Bomio's have one of the chicest design stores in London ....

a "must" stop for all "accessorators"!!!!

Every NYC design junkie knows "accessorator favorite"

Kevin Brynan & Bill Cleary's

MXYPLYZYK ,

a Greenwich Street design tradition!!!!

But, if you happen to walk past it by mistake,

these divine yarn wrapped construction poles scream ....

"look at me"!!!

The store windows and the poles celebrate

a unique collection of creatures called

"JouJou" dolls!!!

This bevy of colorful knit beauties

are handmade by a Haitian women's cooperative,

from recycled and donated yarns ....

it's a fabulous project!!!

And, in addition to paying the woman a fair wage,

one dollar from the sale of each doll

goes back to the coop .....

helping to empower the women's self sufficiency!!!!

I am know to love a good dish ....

DISH already has a place of honor in my bookcase .....

and is a major "must have" for every "accessorator supreme"!!!!

Lamp's Dress-up in Sweaters @ Studio Decorkuznetsov!

Ukranian designers Valeriy & Ekaterina Kuznwtaov,

of Studio Decorkuznetsov,

have created these divine "scarfy lamps."

The designers use steel frames

and cover them with crocheted lampshades

of Peruvian wool.

Several of the lamps have quirky "short sleeves,"

a decorative touch,

that is also used to change the light bulbs!!!

I love the lamps ....

and am very taken with the wrapped legs!!!

Anyway, winter is coming ......

so the timing for these wooly lamps couldn't be better!!!!

#3 Museum of Everything's "Windows of Everything"!

James Brett's Museum of Everything pop-up is extraordinary,

the "Store of Everything" is fantastic .......

but Selfridges "Windows of Everything" are the best!!!!!

Imagine devoting every window on Oxford Street,

a gigantic city block in London,

spanning the front of one of the world's greatest stores,

to "everything" that can't be sold!!!!

This is a phenomenal design installation,

and I applaud the Selfridges team for being sooooo brave!!!

This is a major tribute to the arts ....

but I can't help wondering,

who in NYC would ever be this brave?????

The Museum of Everything 4.0 is spectacular ....

but the "Shop of Everything" is incredible!!!

Imagine James Brett and Selfridges collaborating

to create this amazing "shopping mecca of everything" ....

thinking of soooo much fabulous "everythingness"!!!!

I bought tons of great "everything gifts" ....

to take back to NYC!!!!

Remember ...... Christmas is coming!!!!

James Brett's pop-up

Museum of Everything (blog 12/14/10)

is having it's latest divine incarnation at

Selfridges, London.

Brett's collection of self taught artists,

with developmental and physical disabilities,

is on display in a delightful warren of rooms

in the department store's lower level.

In addition to the the delicious exhibition,

great graphics are throughout the store,

a divine "shop of everything" is on the main floor,

& sublime "windows of everything" run across Oxford Street!!!!

You can't miss this "installation of everything"......

it's all the "accessoration quirkiness"

that makes London ..... London!!!

I live in the world of "more" is always far better than "less"!!!

I think two is always better than one .......

so, I couldn't wait to see artist Nick Cave's divine "double-header" at

the Jack Shainman Gallery and the Mary Boone Gallery!!!

Unfortunately, I missed the exhibition at Jack's,

it closed Saturday ......

but managed to see the one at Mary's yesterday .....

it's opened for two more weeks!!!

It was amazing.... a must, must, must see!!!

Color, collage, pattern, textile, and lotsa' great stuff .....

way, way over-the-top,

where too much is never, ever enough!!!!

These "soundsuits" are an "accessorator's" dream!!!!

Extraordinary!!!

I See Color Everywhere ...... Especially London!!!

the color, the patterns, the words, the pictures ....

and the locations!!!

And London's East End always has the most divine

selection of things to see!!!

Remember London's op-art bunnie (blog 6/3/10) .....

she changed her "look" all the time!!!!

Graffiti is part of the

"keep your eyes opened all the time"

theory of "accessoration"!!!
