This past weekend, I found the most divine
"fashion accessorations"
in East Hampton,
at my very favorite store ...
Henry Lehr!!!
These "to die for" distressed,
worn-washed canvas and leather,
Italian high-top sneakers,
with zipper detail from
are "beyond the best"!!!
They are the accessorator's hippest 2012
"dream accessorations"!!!
I had to have every pair in my size!!!

created this 2011 series of photographs examining
Barbie's miniature world ....
where she was living as a "hoarder"!!!
There is a very fine line between being a "hoarder"
& being an "accessorator" ....
these over-stuffed rooms definitely
cross that line!!!
Be careful "accessorators" ....
this could be you!!!!
English designer Paul Smith has a collection of the
most fabulously "accessorated" stores
through-out the world!!!
Last year I stumbled upon my current favorite,
possibly the smallest & most unusual,
Tourrette, located at 70 Rue de Grenelle, Paris!!!
According to Smith, "The store dates back to the Thirties
when La Tourrette was opened by Monsieur Tourrette
as a "Bougnat";
the left side of the shop selling coal,
the right side selling wine,
supplies considered to be the staples of a Parisian winter."
Applying a universal design philosophy to all of his shops,
his design team has re-invented the space,
while still being "sympathetic
to it's history & retaining its identity."
The store has not changed either inside or out ...
the floors, the walls, the details,
& the original signage remain in place,
with the addition of "vintage inspired" fixtures.
Smith's stores are all "accessoration's supreme"!!!
Currently this is my favorite ......
but who know's what's next in the world of
Paul Smith!!!

KENTUCKY PIED DE POULE,
is at CRG Gallery.
"Da Cunha takes everyday objects-
beach towels, curtain railings, mop heads-
and turns them into sculpture that, at a cursory glance,
ask to be considered formally,
with Modernist and Minimalist language."
The KENTUCKY PIED DE POULE series refers to
the elegantly woven tapestries
that are made from dyed mop heads!!!
"Kentucky" is the brand of the mop,
while "pied de poule" is French
for the houndstooth pattern,
created by the woven mops!!!
Da Cunha's improvisational & interesting use of
traditional commercial objects
that are transformed into daring "works of art,"
makes this extraordinary exhibition
an accessorator's "must-see"!!!
Last August the divine House Beautiful E-I-C,
asked me to begin "thinking green"!!!
He was planning the March 2012 color issue,
& the color was going to be ....
GREEN!!!

at the Museum of Art & Design!!!!
Adriano Berengo curator & createur
of this project commissioned a group of international
artists & designers,
unpracticed in glass as a creative medium,
to create a new visionary collaboration between
glass & their own practices.
The work is innovative, interesting, & exciting .....
a major "must see" for all accessorators!!!
Design/merchandising guru Bruce Tilley
has recently opened
Décor NYC ....
an "accessorator's paradise"!!!
This "updated" luxury consignment shop features
furniture, antiques, accessories, & art ....
from decorators & their clients,
wholesalers, manufacturers, & individuals.
The store's concept is to feature an extensive,
ever-changing inventory
of well displayed unique, stylish, chic
& tasteful designer merchandise
at "moderate prices."
According to Tilley, he has created
"a consignment gallery
with an elevated design aesthetic."
Décor NYC is an "accessorator's dream,"
a well curated store .....
where we can buy "great new stuff,"
& sell the "great old stuff"
we already have!!!
My "accessorator heart" is broken ....
my friends Murray Moss & Franklin Getchell
are closing their
world renown design mecca,
Moss!!!!
But not before presenting this fabulous
exhibition of stunning jewelry,
by the divine Italian designer .......
Mixing silver with enamel, pearls, crystals,
& unusual stones ........
these one-off necklaces, bracelets, earrings, & rings ....
are an "accessorator's dream"!!!
And ..... the installation is Murray at his best!!!
Upside down wine glasses, overflowing with beads ....
over-sized antique glass domes with chunky bracelets inside ...
plastic ring trays from the Container Store ....
all creating a 2012 "dressing table" ....
in "hi/low style"!!!!!!!
Murray is an "accessorator supreme"!!!!
Soho will miss his eponymous store,
but, we'll still have the fabulous
And, Murray will be off in the world ......
finding the latest international design talents,
consulting with the museums of the world,
educating young design students to "open their eyes,"
& teaching companies throughout the world ....
what good design is!!!!

housed a classic 1940's Lebanese house,

silhouettes & trims!!!
In 2000, combining her love of fashion,
with the desire to help underprivileged women
began her business with a collection of twelve bags
created by women prisoners at Baabda,
a Lebanese prison.
It has expanded into an ever changing collection
of artisan made bags
& accessories that combine contemporary design,
retro chic, & Middle Eastern ethnicity!!!
I must admit I am beginning to have an
"accessorator's inventory" of these stunning bags ....
and they are also fabulous gifts!!!!
I adore the work of English designer
& have been a major "groupie" for several years.
Her recent nomination, in two categories,
for Designer of the Year
by London's Design Museum is well deserved!!!
Bethan is nominated in the furniture category for her

& the composition of the solar system."
In addition, these spectacular patterns
inspired the stunning textiles
that made Bethan a beguiling, walking "lunar landscape"
during the Milan Furniture Fair!!!
Bethan's jewelry collection "PARTICLE" ......
which I was lucky enough to see at the "Composite" show
during London Design Week .......
began as a way to salvage the "leftover bits"
from her "PARTICLE" furniture series.
It has expanded to an extensive
collection of stunning bracelets & necklaces!!!
Bethan's work is included in the
"Designers of the Year 2012" exhibition, opening
tomorrow at London's Design Museum!!!!
This is a "must see" exhibition for all
dedicated "accessorators"!!!

Award winning, London based, design duo
owner's of the avant-garde furniture company,
captured the attention of the more than
100 million viewers of Madonna's
half-time spectacular!!!!!
They were asked to design & create Madonna's
chariot-cum-podium-cum-throne
upon which she entered Lucas Oil Stadium!!!!
It was the ultimate "accessoration" .....
& Madonna is the ultimate fabulous entertainer!!!
But, the NY Giants win sent us over the moon!!!!
GO GIANTS!!!!

What is a MHOY?????
It's a "protest pet" designed by artist
Cyril Anguelidis!!!
Beginning as sticker art in Paris, it has evolved
into this three dimensional, recycled,
poly resin sculpture!!!
Evoking the struggle for animal rights,
a MHOY may look like a loudspeaker but,
it is really a heart touching creature ....
who "protests in silence"!!!!
By adopting a MHOY, we recognize this struggle ......
5% of all sales go directly to PETA .......
a charity that fights for the dignity of all animals!!!
I bought a dozen to give to all my favorite
