Benches are a "hot trend" this spring ......
& I especially adore this brilliant "do-it-yourself" group
that were "hanging around" the Lambrate

Genius isn't it .....
especially the nice touch of neon orange,
another 2013 trend!!!

I returned to Carla Sozzani's
10 Corso Como last week
during Milan's design extravaganza ....
& was again awed by the extraordinary talent of
artist/designer Chris Ruhs!!!

This time I climbed the circular staircase
above the gallery .....
to find this brilliant roof garden!!!

There was so much to see.....
murals, planters, furniture, mosaics, all things "art" .....
plus the spectacular garden folly!!!

It is the "ultimate accessoration of accessorations"!!!!

influenced by the austerity & simplicity
of Islamic architecture,

architect I.M. Pei.

It is breathtaking in both setting & design ....
this architectural "must-see,"

both inside & out!!!

I had "color shock" when I drove by
the ultimate "Palm Springs Accessoration"
& of course I had to stop!!!

How much color can one hotel absorb???
Apparently New York-based architects
think an entire rainbow!!!

Inspired by colors of native desert wildflowers
& an enormous Pantone color card
this renovated Holiday Inn,
a sublime "celebration of color",
puts me into total "accessorator heaven"!!!

Hey guys,
What about that tacky Holiday Inn on Tenth Avenue,
it's screaming for a make-over!!!

But, I do see a potential problem ....
other than black,
what colors are indigenous to NYC!!!

English artist Martin Creed's fantastic installation
"Work No 1461"
invites you into internationally renown
Swiss art dealer Iwan Wirth's
newest NYC mega gallery

Creed's gorgeous 2013 site specific work,
created from 2" tape
in a variety of colors & patterns,
with no repeat ....
covers the entire "grand staircase,"
& vestibule of this extraordinary space!!!

The stunning gallery,
designed by architectural genius
formerly housed The Roxy, a 1980's roller disco
& in it's current incarnation is home
to 33 genuine "art stars"!!!

This incredible addition to NYC's "art scene"
is an "accessorator's" visual
"dream come true" .....
& a major "must-see"!!!!

The quirky Spanish shoe company
has a worldwide collection of retail stores,
each unique, they are designed by renown
international
contemporary designers
& they are springing-up everywhere!!!!

I have seen incredible stores designed by
& the Bouroullec Brothers ....
but, right now I am totally enthralled by this
divine store in NYC!!!

Located on Madison Avenue, across from Barneys,
this spectacular NYC store is the creation of
the brilliant Brazilian design duo the

Handcrafted in Brazil the walls, window display,
seating, & lighting is crafted of
woven natural fibers ....
evoking a strong sense of the rainforest.

The "transplastic" seating, considered a metaphor for
the world of natural vs. synthetic,
is a recycled collection of
plastic chairs & tables that appear to be
"growing" through the wicker.

This store is a Madison Avenue "must-see"!!!

Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything about the shoes ....
I was held captive by the environment!!!!

A little something to keep you warm!!!!

Think a weekend in Miami ....
and a fantastic shopping spree at
on "hip & happening"
Lincoln Road in South Beach!!!

And remember this sublimely curated collection
of designer apparel & accessories
is set in a glass & mirror 1800-square-foot
transparent box
on the fifth floor of a parking garage!!!

Not just any car park ....
but an amazing concrete "sculpture"
design by the dynamic Swiss architectural duo

Of course, my quirky eye was over-obsessed by the
"outdoor furniture" around the store!!!

I was told the pieces were made from
"left-over wood from the construction of the building,"
& they were designed by
Herzog & de Meuron's design team!!!

"Accessoration's sublime" ......
Wouldn't you love them on your NYC terrace!!!!

The "marriage" of furniture & art at international art fairs
always fascinates me ...
especially last month at Miami's zillion fairs!!!

Featured at  Berlin's Neugerriemschneider Gallery
were LA based sculptor Jorge Pardo's
brightly colored plastic wrapped
table & chairs chairs,
as well as his divine light fixtures!!!

Artist Julian Hoeber's Shaker inspired
grey cotton web & wood pieces
were at NYC's Harris Lieberman Gallery.
The four seating pieces fit under the glass table,
creating a sculptural square!!!

which usually has great furniture in their booth,
had a divine "photo print" table
by collaborative artists

Vintage Brazilian 50's furniture included
Zanini ameba-shaped wooden table that was
paired with vintage Eames chairs
at NYC's CRG Gallery,
& a divine sculptural large wooden octagon table
& leather chairs
at NYC's Sean Kelly Gallery!!!

I saw so much great design,
paired with
soooo much great art  .....
it was heard to know what to look at first!!!

What more I say,
I ADORE everything Prouvé!!!!

And I think, the most extraordinary collection
of Prouvé's work is at
Galerie Downtown in Paris!!!

Gallery owner François Laffanour
has again exhibited an incredible selection of work ...
furniture, fixtures, & this incredible "structure"
(see blog 12/1/11 for 2011 installation)

I am awed by everything .....
but I think the door is staggeringly beautiful!!!

I can't imagine what François has up his sleeve for 2013!!!

the NY based design firm created by
architect Alex Mustonen & artist Daniel Arsham,
is responsible for the entry pavilion of
& it is sublime!!!

"Drift" is a floating pavilion
created by inflated white vinyl tubes of
varying the lengths that create a
"topographical landscape"
suspended over head.

Beneath are upholstered foam elements
titled "Bend,"
they bend, twist, & drape ......
creating seating that becomes an alternate
"landscape for play & relaxation."

This unique installation is visually stunning
& conceptually brilliant .....
another innovative creation from

Everything I've read about the newly opened
designed by internationally renowned architects
says that it's " all about the light"!!!

Historically the East End of Long Island has attracted
artists because of it's spectacular light!!!

Parish Director Terrie Sultan says one of the goals
of the museum's design
is to give its visitors the opportunity
to see the museum collection
"in the same light as the artists,
when they created the work."

Herzog & de Meuron Senior Partner
also referenced the light of the area ....
"The beautiful landscape and this light
is a very important form of inspiration to us."

Unfortunately thus far,
I have only gotten to see the museum at night .....
and I must report that it is spectacular!!!

But undoubtedly ......
I know I'll be seeing it in daylight soon!!!

The talk of the "fashion universe" was last night's
extraordinarily fabulous launch of the collaboration between
fashion genius Maison Martin Margiela
& international retail giant H&M!!!

The clothes & accessories (available Nov 15 @ H&M) are divine,
but I absolutely adored & was overwhelmed by
the spectacular "over-the-top" inventive & exciting
installation of the merchandise
in the  most incredible location in NYC...
a "decayed urban treasure" that has been
abandoned for over a decade,
and is spectacular!!!

In this case my pictures are worth ten thousand words!!!

Incredible "accessoration" ..... don't you agree!!!
