NYC's Frieze Art Fair was an enormous success!!!
A fabulous selection of international galleries
showing paintings, drawings,
sculpture, installations, & my favorite category....
artist's "furniture accessortations"!!!

Soooo much to see & sooo little time .....
& this is only the tip of the "accessorator's iceberg"!!!

It is spectacular!!!

The twenty plus galleries at Collective .1 present a
"a cohesive, curated selection of
contemporary design & historical pieces
from around the world."

Located in Pier 57
on the West Side Highway at 15th Street ...
this is an "accessorator must-see!!!"

I adored my visit to Dallas ....
I saw sooooo much fabulous art & incredible design ....
I went into a spin!!!

I flipped over everything in this house ...
it's owner is an over-the-moon
"accessorator supreme"!!!

But, I can't get this sublime dinning room
out of my mind!!!
These fabulous vintage textiles
pieced into these sublime "table-mats"
are brilliant!!!

I imagined all the textiles in my closet ....
incredible African cloth remnants,
fantastic ikat fabrics,
& the vintage quilt pieces sitting
on the top shelf!!!
WOW .... I'm off to the seamstress now!!!

And the chairs are spectacular too!!!!

German designer Ingo Maurer &
British company Established & Sons
presented Maurer's "Floating Table" last month
in Milan during Design Week.

The round table has the illusion of being "legless"
but really "stands" on four bentwood chairs
that are hinged to the tabletop.

An exciting & innovative "accessoration divine,"
the chairs slide in & out
for easy access!!!

I returned to Carla Sozzani's
10 Corso Como last week
during Milan's design extravaganza ....
& was again awed by the extraordinary talent of
artist/designer Chris Ruhs!!!

This time I climbed the circular staircase
above the gallery .....
to find this brilliant roof garden!!!

There was so much to see.....
murals, planters, furniture, mosaics, all things "art" .....
plus the spectacular garden folly!!!

It is the "ultimate accessoration of accessorations"!!!!

the divine Rossana Orlandi's
eponymous store!!!

Yesterday was no different
& I found myself obsessed with
my favorite "divine accessorations" .....

My favorite "accessorations" are always chairs,
stools, benches, & couches ....
anything I can sit on!!!

And in Doha, I was enthralled by
all of the divine possibilities of places
to sit!!

I keep thinking about the sublime green benches
for my garden ......
one of the gorgeous inlaid wood chairs
for my living room .....
or a bench with red, black, & white striped pillows
for my porch!!!

I think these pieces are sublime .....
absolutely must have "over-the-top" accessorations!!!

The news addition the Doha's
is Alain Ducasse's stunning restaurant

Designed by Philippe Starck,
it is spectacular .....
sumptuous white leather
with silver calligraphy,
an incredible amount of Baccarat crystal,
glorious graphic rugs,
& divine dinnerware,
plus a view to-die-for ....
this is the most stunning restaurant
in the world!!!

And don't forget the Ducasse cuisine ....
a total WOW!!!

Pictures are scarce ....
so enjoy this special "secret view"!!!

It's "Art Fair" week in NYC ......
& others toooo numerous to mention!!!

We "art accessorators" do
sooo much walking & soooo much talking
on soooo much concrete .....
we're exhausted!!!

So, the most important "accessorations" at art fairs
are the chic "rest spots"
where you can have a coffee, chat about art,
& rest those tired tootsies!!!

These "spots" are at The Armory Show at Pier 94 .....
aren't they divine!!!

The very British Brenda Antin is the most divine,
delightful,& delicious "shopkeeper" in LA
& her eponymous shop is fantastically fabulous,
& a designer's "trade secret"!!!

The store is a unique blend of vintage & new ....
including a melange of French & English & Italian antique
furniture, lamps, & accessories!!!

Plus Brenda's "own" stunning custom collection
of linen (natural & over-dyed) upholstered furniture!!!

She has also created extraordinary wicker furniture
that she manufactures in LA!!!

And there is also a stunning selection
of bespoke pillows!!!

BUT, I am most in awe of her enormous collection
of vintage textiles!!!
Traveling to France, England, & Italy,
I'm sure Brenda & her husband Mike
never met a piece of linen, toile, or ticking
that they didn't ship back to LA!!!

In her upstairs loft, this "textile junkie"
also has a secret trove of goodies
from around the world .....
including incredible indigos, India quilts,
& Japanese silks!!!

Brenda is the ultimate "accessorator supreme"
& a "must-meet" in LA!!!!

An old-fashioned kinda' girl,
Brenda has no website ...
but can be reached at

The quirky Spanish shoe company
has a worldwide collection of retail stores,
each unique, they are designed by renown
international
contemporary designers
& they are springing-up everywhere!!!!

I have seen incredible stores designed by
& the Bouroullec Brothers ....
but, right now I am totally enthralled by this
divine store in NYC!!!

Located on Madison Avenue, across from Barneys,
this spectacular NYC store is the creation of
the brilliant Brazilian design duo the

Handcrafted in Brazil the walls, window display,
seating, & lighting is crafted of
woven natural fibers ....
evoking a strong sense of the rainforest.

The "transplastic" seating, considered a metaphor for
the world of natural vs. synthetic,
is a recycled collection of
plastic chairs & tables that appear to be
"growing" through the wicker.

This store is a Madison Avenue "must-see"!!!

Unfortunately, I can't tell you anything about the shoes ....
I was held captive by the environment!!!!

The "marriage" of furniture & art at international art fairs
always fascinates me ...
especially last month at Miami's zillion fairs!!!

Featured at  Berlin's Neugerriemschneider Gallery
were LA based sculptor Jorge Pardo's
brightly colored plastic wrapped
table & chairs chairs,
as well as his divine light fixtures!!!

Artist Julian Hoeber's Shaker inspired
grey cotton web & wood pieces
were at NYC's Harris Lieberman Gallery.
The four seating pieces fit under the glass table,
creating a sculptural square!!!

which usually has great furniture in their booth,
had a divine "photo print" table
by collaborative artists

Vintage Brazilian 50's furniture included
Zanini ameba-shaped wooden table that was
paired with vintage Eames chairs
at NYC's CRG Gallery,
& a divine sculptural large wooden octagon table
& leather chairs
at NYC's Sean Kelly Gallery!!!

I saw so much great design,
paired with
soooo much great art  .....
it was heard to know what to look at first!!!

LA based artist Andrea Bowers'
"Tree Sitting Platforms" combined art, design,
& social consciousness
at NYC's Andrew Kreps Gallery at

A focal point at the fair,
these "perfect perches" of recycled materials
are a sublime reminder
of our responsibility to the environment.

This visually stimulating combination
of "art & message"
fits my aesthetic to a tee ......
& I would love having a "platform" hang
in my garden!!!

Since my trip to Brazil last fall,
I am in love with all things Brazilian!!!

Especially furniture .....
& especially the work of designer

Tenreiro, a major force in modernist Brazilian furniture,
was born in Portugal & moved to Rio de Janeiro
in his 20's.

Influenced by the warm weather of Brazil,
his pieces were light .....
often combining wicker or cane with
indigenous Brazilian hardwoods.

I was delighted to see this DIVINE dinning set at
& am wondering if it will fit in my dinning room!!!
